“Within every negative feeling there is a longing, a wish, and, because of that, there is a recipe for success.”

My experience.

I’m a Brooklyn-based Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

I have a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University and am certified in relationship counseling and family therapy from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy.

Before private practice, I spent many years working in non-profit community social services in the Bronx, directing programs related to housing, medical care coordination, and mental health counseling.

I have extensive training and experience working with mood disorders, depression, anxiety, anger, and self-esteem.

My philosophy.

We all bring pain and patterns from our past into current relationships, which can make them feel loaded, tense, and stuck at times. But with awareness and understanding, we can let go of the constraints of the past and make changes in our interpersonal lives.

I have always been highly attuned to the thoughts and feelings that tend to go unspoken and create tension. Some emotions, desires and needs feel too big, too scary, too important, or too shameful to say out loud. Finding the words to express ourselves clearly is difficult. Therapy creates the space to share safely, and provides opportunities to better understand ourselves and better connect with loved ones.

My clients find my approach warm and accepting. I will kindly challenge you to use both accountability and self-compassion. If this sounds like a good fit for you, I’d love to hear from you.
